Fighting Against "laws" That Aren't Really!

states032315-800x500.jpg

The IRS, EPA, FDA, TSA, ATF, DEA, and so many others make up an alphabet soup of un-constitutional regulatory agencies that grind out much of what we as modern Americans have come to think of as law. There are a couple of problems with that.

Report on the OK GOP Credentials Committee March 28

Because of recent rumors, I decided to attend the Credentials Committee meeting to ascertain the truth for myself. If the GOP is to maintain faith with the people, it is essential that the rules are followed transparently and efficiently.

An Update On How Things Are Going

Since we launched the OKGrassroots Project four months ago, we’ve become familiar other groups that believe the precincts are key to restoring constitutional, representative government to America. In fact, we’ve drawn from, and been inspired by some of them.

For Every Law You Pass, Let's Repeal One!

Randy Grau gave what I considered to be a great speech recently at the Oklahoma County Republican convention. His proposal to amend the state constitution would make it impossible for the Oklahoma state legislature to write new laws in even numbered years, without three fourths of the legislature agreeing to an emergency issue vote. The proposal would be geared towards clearing time to do a complete audit of every state agency’s budget every other year, top to bottom, justifying every dollar spent. I love this idea!

OKGOP Oklahoma County Convention recap

I’ve had a week to reflect on the 2015 OK County

Convention held March 7 at OCCC. Having barely lost my race for Vice Chair, I wanted to get past the sting of defeat and gather perspective. On the whole, I’m optimistic the county party can become the dynamic grassroots force it was 50 years ago when Al Snipes put the GOP on the Oklahoma political map.

Tag You're It! Welcome to the "Leaderless" Revolution!

tag_youre_it.jpg

One of the first questions most of us will ask whenever anything goes wrong in life is, who was to blame? If you get bad service at the oil change place, you want to know who is in charge. If your food arrives at your table cold, you want to speak to a manager. The list goes on and on. When it comes to politics, the man at the top is a favorite whipping boy, especially for the opposing party, even when he rarely bears sole responsibility for whatever it is you are upset about.

That is What Happens in Centralized Organizations

  • Centralization leads to “top down” leadership
  • Those below must wait for word from above to take action
  • Consumer level “customer service” people rarely have authority to fix a problem
  • This all leads to high levels of frustration

That is not how we see The OK Grassroots Project at all. We want to empower everyone to get busy, do what they see that needs doing and help others find ways to get involved using their various skills and abilities. We are striving to build a decentralized movement, where everyone can feel free to adapt and improve upon things and find the best way to reach their own community.

One Lesson I Learned From My Precinct Meeting in 2015

Walking-Alone-High-Quality-.jpg

If there is one lesson I learned from this week’s Oklahoma County wide precinct meetings, it’s that all you need to do is show up. 50%+1 will win any popular election, and in many cases yesterday, all that it took was a majority of one.

I am now the proud chairman of precinct 118 and Porter handily maintained his precinct chair as well, with a group of nine, one of the largest precinct groups we have heard of so far. It appears we have our work cut out for us.
